I think this started out as a typographic exercise at college. Just some hand-rendered type, but I needed a sentence. And I did more word-play back then that I do now (can you believe (sh)it?) so I pondered and the two meanings here in this sentence came to. The need to challenge things, everything, and also the realisation that there is a huge amount of lazy, poorly considered things in the world. Shit design, and things that are hard to fix, or just don’t work, or do but in a “why did I even bother?” way. So people should question stuff and people and opinions and products. Demand quality and query ideas and motives and output. If something is worth doing it’s worth doing – spend you time (and the world’s) resources wisely, with energy and panache – deliver functionality and purpose. Good shit, not just lazy shit.
